SAN BERNARDINO,CA-The Greater San Bernardino Area Chapter, NAACP, held the Annual Freedom Fund Dinner & Awards Celebration, October 30, 2014, at the San Bernardino Hotel. The Guest Speaker was the Honorable Willie Brown, Jr, renowned for his ground-breaking roles as the 1st Black Mayor of the City of San Francisco. He is also known for having been the longest serving ‘Speaker’ (leader) of the California State Assembly.

Other honored guests in attendance were Alice Huffman, President of the California NAACP, Pete Aguilar, Candidate for election of 31st Congressional District, Assemblymember Cheryl Brown, Deborah Robertson, Mayor of Rialto, Danny Tillman, San Bernardino School Board Member, Dr. Margaret Hill, San Bernardino School Board Member, Frances Grice, Civil Rights Activist and Consultant, Bonnie Sheree Johnson, Business Owner, Marta Macias Brown, widow of late George Brown, representative of San Bernardino area Congress and Gloria Macias Harrison. The NAACP also recognized students from the Rialto and San Bernardino high school districts for their outstanding academic achievements.
